My dog is vomiting yellow, dry heaving, and acting strange. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 7 months old

My dog had loose stool yesterday. He vomited today yellow. He has been dry heaving a lot afterwords. He is behaving strangely. He is very cuddly normally and right now he is being more elusive.

Poor guy. It sounds like Indiana has a severe stomach upset. Yellow vomit is bile, which indicates he has an empty stomach and can't vomit anything else up. It also sounds like he is lethargic, which means that it is best to get him to your vet for treatment. Hopefully he just ate something that upset his stomach, because many underlying illnesses can cause GI (gastrointestinal) symptoms like these. The vet should be able to do a good physical exam and get his vitals to determine if there is likely something else underlying going on here or not. I do hope that your furry frend Indiana is going to be ok moving forward. Best of luck and take care.
