Can I give KMR to my nursing cat instead of feeding kittens directly?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | 1 year and 2 months old

Can I supplement the mother cat with KMR instead of directly feeding it to her kittens? I am afraid of mishandling them or stressing out the mother.

If you are wanting to have the KMR pass through to the kittens into the mom's milk, it will not work like that. Bosie will digest and breakdown a lot of the KMR's nutrients and it will not pass to the kittens. If you want the kittens to get the KMR, then it needs to be fed to them directly.
