My pet is vomiting, bloody stool, not drinking. Is there a home remedy?

My pet is not drinking water, bloody stool and vomits watery for past 2 days. Its not playing and looks sad. No veterinarian in my place, so suggest a home remedy!? It's urgent..save life

I wish there was a home remedy for this, but there is not. Tino is very sick, and his symptoms are well beyond home remedies. He needs IV fluids, drugs to stop the vomiting, and possibly antibiotics. You need to get into the car with him, and take him into the closest vet to you now.

I have an 8 year old mastiff who up until this morning was seemingly healthy. He refused to eat his food this morning and had two loose stools as soon as he was let out to go to the bathroom. He has vomited once. Later today he had two liquid stools
I can give you a home remedy for Diesel to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck.

I’m not sure if this is diarrhea or bloody stool
Oh dear! It's hard to tell whether this is bloody diarrhea or vomit, as either one can be this color and consistency in some cases. You can try dabbing a paper towel gently around your pet's rectum to see if there are any traces of diarrhea there, as this can sometimes help to sort out where it came from. Regardless of whether this is vomit or diarrhea, it does look very concerning. If possible, I would recommend taking your pet to an emergency clinic tonight to be seen - especially if he/she is acting lethargic or not wanting to eat. Severe bloody vomit or diarrhea like this can be caused by a number of serious issues, including a bleeding stomach ulcer, HGE (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis), pancreatitis, or ingestion of something toxic. Your veterinarian can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get your pet started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

Yes, I recommend to keep that appointment. Scarlett has significant inflammation in her intestines and she may start getting dehydrated if she is not drinking well. A bland diet is something you can o at home which can help. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. Hello. A little blood in the stool is often nothing to be overly concerned about as it is probably only parasites or inflammation, possibly from colitis. But with vomiting, we now have to be concerned that Winston has something a bit more serious, like a more severe intestinal infection, an intestinal foreign body/blockage, inflammatory bowel disease or even cancer. If he is keeping most of his food & water down, & the blood in his stool in minimal & overall he seems pretty comfortable, then it is OK to wait to have him seen on Sunday. If anything changes & he seems to be getting worse, then do take him in sooner. Hopefully, Winston will be back to his old self soon. Thanks for contacting Boop by Petco.

I'm so sorry that Trouble is not feeling well. If he is defecating blood, he could have severe colitis, or inflammation of his colon or around his anus. At his age, this could be due to a number of different underlying problems, like intestinal parasites, viral infections (like parvovirus), bacterial infections, or even dietary indiscretion. I am very concerned that Trouble won't eat or drink. Dehydration can make these situations worse. I think the best thing to do is to take him to your vet to be evaluated. This sounds very bad. Bloody stools means there is significant inflammation in the colon. Common causes include hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, parvo virus, and distemper virus. If he is vomiting at the same time, he really needs vet care to prevent life-threatening dehydration. Try to force him to drink small amounts of water or pedialyte every 2 hours to give fluids without possibly causing vomiting. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Pooping blood could be due to intestinal worms, eating something toxic, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, parvovirus if Happy isn't vaccinated, or a foreign body. Pooping blood can have very serious causes, so he really does need to see a vet now. Vets are seeing patients for emergency cases, so call your vet now to see he can be seen by a vet.
