This could cause some damage to the GI tract or may give Ares a little stomach upset, but he should be fine. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, blood in his poop, loss of appetite, or lethargy, have him seen by a vet.

It could also be intestinal worms, which are common in puppies. As long as he's eating and drinking, and otherwise behaving normally, it's not an emergency. He should be seen by vet for it, but it can wait until the morning. I hope this helps!

My puppy ate a plastic safety cap from a plastic sports bottle last Monday. He has just been sick through the night and brought it back up whole. Will he now be ok or would there be concerns for internal damage and if so what are the signs?
It is great news that your puppy vomited the cap up. Now you will not have to worry about a foreign body and intestinal blockage! The plastic cap may have caused some gastritis and/or esophagitis (inflammation of the stomach and esophagus) which may cause some reflux and GI upset. If Bertie is eating and drinking well you should have nothing to worry about. If she stops wanting to eat or continues vomiting, you may want to take her in to see your vet so she can be prescribed some gastroprotectants. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. My ten pound toy poodle MAY agave ingested a tiny piece or two of plastic from a zip lock bag that containers treats. She tries to rip open the bag, the holes look more like rips than bites, but I'm worried she ingested a piece or two? Will she be ok
A tiny piece of plastic like this is unlikely to cause any problems with Ella. You can monitor her for signs of GI obstruction which would include vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, and lethargy. If these occur, then she should see her vet right away, but I don't expect that to occur with the small amounts she may have ingested, they will likely just pass through her GI tract. You can feed her something high in fiber to help the passing, such as a piece of whole wheat bread or a teaspoon or two of canned pumpkin.

Well that was naughty of Hachi to eat that! It looks like a small piece of plastic, so it may pass without problem, but there is always a chance that it could become stuck in his GI tract and cause an obstruction. The best thing to do is take him into a vet immediately to induce vomiting with a shot to get it out of his stomach and prevent any chance of obstruction. There may be an ER vet in your area; if not, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Now you can monitor him over the next couple of days to see if it passes. Check his poop to see if you can find it. If he stops eating, starts vomiting, has diarrhea, becomes very lethargic, has blood in his poop, or stops pooping, then the plastic piece may be stuck and you will have to rush him into a vet immediately. In that case, he would likely need surgery to remove it. Good luck, I hope this helps!

As long as he is eating and drinking normally, I would not be concerned. If he begins to vomit or loses his appetite, then I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at him and perform some diagnostic testing such as x-rays to help rule out a foreign body obstruction from the plastic. My dog got a hold of my Lanolin balm and chewed up the plastic bottle as well as digested the balm. Should I be worried? I believe it’s nontoxic but just want to be sure.
Hello there! The lanolin itself is not toxic, but may cause some temporary, greasy diarrhea. I see that he is an Australian Shepherd- since he is long haired, I will give you the gross warning that there may be a smelly bath in his future after the lanolin passes. As long as he did not ingest any large pieces of plastic, I would not be concerned. If you're not sure if he got any large pieces, the signs of a serious problem from ingesting plastic would be: not wanting to eat, lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you see those signs, I would recommend a vet visit and an x-ray to make sure he does not have any plastic stuck in his intestinal tract. I hope this is helpful! Thanks for using Boop by Petco!

These little pieces of plastic should pass without problem, but they may cause some damage to the GI tract if they are sharp. If you see blood in the poop, diarrhea, or a loss of appetite, have Nila seen by a vet.

My dog, ravyn, ate a bottle cap....What will happen to her? Is it serious?
It will either pass through or it could potential get stuck and cause an obstruction. If she chewed it in pieces than it will likely pass through without getting stuck. It may cause some inflammation in her intestines and you may notice some diarrhea. If she starts vomitng, becomes lethargic, or stops eating than she needs to be seen right away.

That was naughty of Tank for getting into the puppy treats! He's a big boy, so hopefully this plastic will pass without problem. There is always a chance of it could cause an obstruction, so keep an eye on him for signs of obstruction which includes vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, and lethargy. I would be surprised if a small pics of plastic caused an obstruction but it’s possible. You could consider seeing your veterinarian for an x-ray although it’s possible that plastic would not be dense enough to show up. You could also monitor him closely over the next few days for any signs of decreased appetite, vomiting, or abdominal pain and see your vet right away if you notice any of these signs.
