My dog has a lump under his tail. Is it anal glands or something else?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 85 lbs

I originally thought this was glands 8pm and 4pm right? But there’s a large area right under his tail which makes me wonder if it’s something else. Do these pictures tell you anything?

Some experts may say 4 and 8, while others may say 3 and 9. The lump in the image does not appear to be located where the anal glands are. Ideally, you should have Lucky examined by your veterinarian. If this is not possible, monitor the lump for rapid change, growth or discomfort. If you see any of these changes, he will need an exam.
