Dog eye injury on meds, still swollen. When should I call the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Weimaraner | Female | spayed | 60 lbs

So after stormies spat with her dog brother (he bit or scratched her eye) she has seen the vet they gave her, carprofen 100 mg half a pill twice a day and clavamox 375 mg twice a day. She has only been in the meds for 2 days and I’m only seeing very slight reduction in swelling. Do you see a difference? Should I take her back tomorrow or should I wait?

From the photo, it does look like there is a slight reduction in the swelling but this seems like a slower response than expected. Keep in mind every pet is different and every pet responds differently but I recommend to call your veterinarian. Ask about sending in the photos and describe what you are seeing. They may want to examined Stormie again. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
