My old deaf dog growls and attacks at things I can't see. Why?

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | neutered | 8 years and 10 months old | 20 lbs

My 8 yr old, deaf Boston, growls, stares, attacks at "nothing", not at other pets or people.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. It is possible that her vision is becoming more affected as she ages and maybe she is unable to see as well as she previously was. Shadows may scare her or things she cannot quite make out may scare her. However, due to her age, I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian and have her blood tested to ensure that there are no other concerns. I hope this helps!
