Hi when do you think my dog is gonna go into season? She was last in heat may 1st (she wasn’t bred) I have a male dog that I don’t want her breeding with and when she comes into heat I’m going to send her to stay with my sister until her heat is over but she’s showing no signs of going into heat so is she safe to stay here? Pet's info: Dog | Chow Chow | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 11 months old

Dogs typically go into heat every 6-8 months. If you feel like you can spot the beginning of a heat cycle right away you might be able to wait since she's showing no signs now, but I would definitely keep her separated from the male whenever they are unsupervised. To be safe you could also send her to your sister's since it has been 6 months, but she may not go into heat for another month or more.
