Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | 6 years and 4 months old

Hello, my parakeet is panting when he stays calm about 5 mins should it be something dangerous? I looked ar all possible symptoms but it doesent seem anything bad, anyway I can treat him better? I take good care of him and he is in clean and healty place so you dont have to worry about that. Have a nice day.

Panting alone doesn't point to any particular thing, however if Parrot hasn't been active and is just panting from sitting there, that could indicate an issue with the heart or lungs, or extreme stress or illness. In that case, a vet visit is best to check for the cause and get him treated. If he is panting after activity such as flying around a lot, being chased by a hand, etc, giving him time to rest and relax and return to normal is best--however if he doesn't, vet care is a good idea.
