Dog UTI: Will one antibiotic pill affect vet tests? Can dogs take AZO?

my dog has been crying when urinating, and not going alot. cant even touch her privates, she crys out. yesterday i had 1 amoxicillin clavate i gave to help til we see the vet today. will that 1 pill alter the results at all. i dont want it to show negative for infection if indeed she has a UTI SHE IS AN 11 YR OLD NORWEIGAN ELKHOUND. ALSO, can dogs take AZO to prevent infections? if not, what supplements good

One pill shouldn't alter the results, so that will be fine. AZP should not be given to dogs, it's not a medication that can be safely used in this species. The best way to prevent infections is to make sure Amelia drinks lots of water, and you take her out to urinate frequently. The longer she holds her bladder, the more chance bacteria has to build up in the bladder leading to infections.
