Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 15 lbs

My dog has a black, moldy substance growing around her top K9 tooth. She has short, course hair and is always biting herself.

Black discoloration could indicate an infection or a foreign object trapped at the gum line. If you cannot easily remove it (be gentle), I recommend to have Jasmine examined by the veterinarian. Small dogs are more prone to dental disease and it is best to be proactive.
