My dog has a stye in her eye, but it's not bothering her. What to do?

My 12 year old dachshund cassie possible has a stye in her eye. It doesn’t seem to bother her. She is leaving it alone. Opinions?

You can try a warm compress on the area to see if that helps it drain and go down. You can apply it a couple of times a day for five minutes at a time. If it doesn't go away, bothers Cassie, and/or gets bigger, have her seen by a vet.

Dogs can get styes like humans, and you can try pressing a warm compress on this area for five to 10 minutes at a time a couple of times a day. If Belle does have a stye, this warm compress will encourage it to drain. Should this not help with the swelling after 24 hours, then I would have Belle seen by a vet on Monday.

How do I treat a small sty on my dogs eye at home with an at home remedy?
Soaked a soft washcloth in hot water, let it cool a bit (it should be warm to the touch), and apply it to the sty for five minutes at a time a couple of times a days. If this doesn't help drain the sty, have her seen by a vet.

Hi! So I just got home and noticed this on my dogs eye. She doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort but it’s very strange because I don’t recall noticing it last night. I was thinking she might’ve scratched herself by accident however there is no blood
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Frankie. That looks like some kind of lump, and it could be it's a stye. I'd try applying a warm compress to it five minutes a day a couple times a day to see if that helps open it up and drain. If this does not help, it gets bigger, starts bleeding or has pus, or it starts to bother her, then I would have her seen by a vet for it. I hope this helps!

Hello, my puppy Odin recently had this small little ball near his eye. It almost looks like a sty. I attached some photos. Is this something I should be concerned about. Do I let it go away or take him to vet ? He’s acting normal. And I can’t recall
It is possible that Odin has a stye. You can try putting a warm compress on it a couple of times a day for 5-15 minutes to see if that helps with it. If it does, you can clean out the discharge from the stye with saline solution. If this doesn't help, then I would take him into the vet. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

My Boston terrier has a small bump on the lower part of his eye. I’m unsure if this is a style or not?

I have noticed a short mass which I describe as inflamed nodule on the edge of the eye of my dog. What does it mean?
This mass on Mishie Coste's eye could be a stye, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. You can try holding a wash cloth soaked in warm water to the mass to see if that helps encourage drainage. Do this for 5-10 minutes at a time a couple of times over the weekend. If this does not help with it, then I would have her seen by a vet on Monday to have this mass diagnosed and treated.

My Persian cat is 9 years old and it seems like she might have a stye on her lower right inner eyelid. Some excessive tearing/eye discharge. She’s not great at keeping her face clean but gives me some trouble whenever I try to clean it for her. Could
I am not able to appreciate something that looks like a stye. Dogs and cats can get infections in the oil glands at the edge of the eyelids. Warm compresses twice a day and eye medications can be used to help clear up the infection. I do think that Ginger needs to be examined by a vet to make sure that her eyelids aren't rolling in or that none of her eyelashes are bothering her cornea, which are common problems in dogs and cats with excessive skin folds around the eye. Use a warm wet wash cloth to gently clean her skin folds, and try to do it in a way that she feels comfortable, like a companion helping her groom.

Hello, My name is Dr. Elizabeth and I am happy to help. That may be a sty but it could also be an infected hair follicle, blocked pore or other type of infection. If it's still there on Monday or if Caesar is still rubbing at it, I recommend to have him examined. In the mean time, have Caesar wear an elizabethan collar at all times. If he accidently scratches his eye while rubbing at it, he'll need to go to the vet before Monday. Have him wear the collar at all times. You can apply a warm compress to it every couple of hours for 10 minutes. This might help it to come to a head. If it ruptures, gently clean it with water and protect it from rubbing. If it's not dried up by Monday, also have him examined. I hope this helps and please feel free to reach out any time.

I noticed my 2yr old stafforshire terrier has this small white bump near the corner of his eye. It's not bothering him and there is no discharge.
It looks like a little pustule or cyst. Since it is not bothering him, you could monitor it for a few days and see if it changes. You could also apply a warm washcloth compress to the area and see if that helps. Otherwise, have a vet take a look at it to see if he needs an antibiotic and/or anti-inflammatory to treat.
