Dog discharge after pyometra surgery: When should I worry?

My dog had her pyometra surgery on 9th July n still she is having this discharge.vet told us that due to high progesterone level this discharge is continuing n nothing to worry.but why is it for so long?n I read on net that high progesterone level leads to diabetes.what can b done?

She shouldn't be having any discharge like this this long out from her surgery. I would go to another vet for a second opinion here. I would first check her urine to make sure she does not have high glucose levels in there. I agree that diabetes would be high on my radar. An ultrasound of her belly may be needed if her urine checks out ok. I hope that you get to the bottom of your pet Chhutki's abnormal discharge soon. Best of luck and take care.

    It is possible to have a sterile, non infected build up of fluid or mucus in the womb (a precursor to full blown, infected pyo). The persistent discharge is unusual and an ultrasound exam to rule out inflammation of the stump, examination of the discharge under a microscope and urine tests would be useful. Hormone blood tests may also rule out such issues
