Terry needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. The most common reasons for a swelling like this are tooth root abscesses, skin abscess or an allergic reaction (which is the least common). Abscesses can be very serious and cause sepsis if not treated so I recommend to have him examined today for the correct diagnosis and treatment. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
