Why is my dog clearing throat and vomiting with chronic pneumonia?

Nick kept clearing his throat and throwing up 4-5 times. Could it be because he ate too much too fast or could there be some underlying problem. He also has chronic pneumonia. Could that be acting up again? Pet's info: Dog | Spitz | Male | unneutered | 10 years and 4 months old | 15 lbs
