Why is my dog clearing throat and vomiting with chronic pneumonia?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Spitz | Male | unneutered | 10 years and 4 months old | 15 lbs

Nick kept clearing his throat and throwing up 4-5 times. Could it be because he ate too much too fast or could there be some underlying problem. He also has chronic pneumonia. Could that be acting up again?

This presentation associated with pneumonia is quite concerning as it could be the result of an aspiration pneumonia. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.
