Please help. I have a 3 1/2 year old French-bull mastiff mix. Suddenly he is panting constantly, trying to climb up on everything and staring off at nothing. I had his half sister until she passed at just two from osteo-sarcoma. She acted similarly when she was in pain. I don't know what to do. Is this behaviour normal or do I need help?

If only Cooper could talk! This type of behavior could be related to something like anxiety or to pain/discomfort. I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian who will check for evidence of pain on the physical exam. They may also check a urine sample or the anal glands as well. Since he can't talk, it's best to play it safe. Best of luck.
