Why is my bearded dragon lethargic, not eating, with yellow poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Bearded Dragon

My bearded dragon is very lethargic, his poop is yellow and runny and we’re concerned he’s not eating. He has proper lighting and is being fed the same food he was at the pet store (crickets and greens). We’ve had him for about two an a half weeks so I’m hesitant to say he’s just reacclimatizing. Any advice?

Thanks for reaching out about Jabberwocky. Yellow runny feces is not normal, nor a sign of acclimation. A veterinary visit is highly recommended as this bearded dragon appears to be ill. Intestinal parasites or infection, metabolic disorders such as liver (atadenovirus) and other possibilities. Offer water and food through a syringe until you have a veterinary appointment. Good luck.
