The problem with this ingestion is the fat content, which can cause pancreatitis. Watch for vomiting, abdominal pain, a hunched up appearance, lethargy, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. If you see any of these signs, take Pluto into a vet immediately.

Nutella can be toxic not because of the amount of chocolate (which is known to be minimal) but for the fat content (the same for maple syrup). Toxicity would depend on his size/weight and amount ingested. Gastrointestinal signs like vomiting and diarrhoea will probably occur but you should not notice anything else if the quantity ingested is minimal (please give us more indications about it). As a general approach I would recommend close monitoring and withhold food for the next 12 hours. Start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence or any other sign you may be worried about. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lala. Nutella is high in fat and calories. This can cause gastrointestinal upset in a dog. There is a small amount of chocolate as well. This has the potential to cause toxicity, but the amount was likely too small given her size. However, I do recommend that she sees a veterinarian, especially if the vomiting continues. Pancreatitis is another complication and this can be serious. Inflammation of the pancreas is commonly triggered by high fat foods. I hope this information helps!

A 16lb dog would need to eat 5 or more ounces of milk chocolate to be at risk of serious toxicity. At worst, you may see some vomiting or diarrhea. These can typically be managed at home with a short fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. Monitor for lethargy, persistent stomach upset, loss of appetite, restlessness, increased heart rate or tremors. Hi, I would not worry about Trixie having eaten a small amount of nutella on bread. There are no ingredients that are toxic to dogs in Nutella, so even if she had ingested a small piece of bread with some on it she would have been fine. Hope this helps ! Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Ellie. The chocolate content in the gelato is likely too low to cause any toxicity. The fat content may lead to an upset stomach for her though. My dog got into some mixed nuts, she probably ate about a cups worth and the mix was mostly peanut and pistachios with some almonds and cashews. Should I be concerned or take her to the vet?
None of those nuts are specifically toxic, though the high fat content could cause some vomiting, diarrhea, or pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas that can cause a lot of pain and vomiting). If she starts vomiting and vomits more than twice in a 12 hour period, if she starts acting painful or lethargic, or she’s having watery diarrhea, take her in to your vet. In the meantime, just keep an eye on her, and offer her a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for the next couple of days. My 50 lb foxhound ate half a pound of butter. I assume she is going to have horrible diarrhea but are there other things to worry about/watch for?
Yes unfortunately she is a top candidate for pancreatitis. If she ate the butter within the past two hours, it may be possible to make her vomit and get rid of a lot of the butter that way. If it has been longer than that you just need to watch her for lethargy., abdominal pain (looking for a cold place to "sphinx" on , ie cooling her belly), vomiting, general malaise. Do not feed her for 12 hrs. Then start feeding her bland food such as boiled white rice and white boneless chicken. If she appears lethargic, ill, vomiting, in pain, she needs to be seen by a veterinarian.

This candy is not toxic for your pup. It's a lot of sugar, so he may be a bit hyperactive and may have some intestinal upset (vomiting or diarrhea). Dazey will be fine! If she did not eat a lot, this shouldn't cause any problems. The issue would be if she ate a lot, then that could cause pancreatitis. I'd just watch her to be safe. The oil isn't toxic, but it can cause vomiting and/or diarrhea. Some dogs can develop pancreatitis, which can cause illness that lasts for several days. If Narla is sick for more than 12-24 hours, she should get checked out by the vet. Her stools may be loose and greasy for a few days as the oil passes through.
