How can I get vet care for an injured stray cat if I can't afford it?

I. Have a stray mildly tame that is hurt very bad. He cant walk. He was found going through my garage to the under my house. Saginaw vet told me to trap him and get him to an er. This is a stray cat. I cant afford a vet bill at all. I have handicap child that all monies go to. But i cant stand he is hurting so bad. He is trembling. No weight bearing on front legs. He is hurt bad

Call the local SPCA to come and get him now so he can be treated. You are right, he has to see a vet now. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. GiveForward and Youcaring.com are crowd funding websites that help you raise money to help take care of your pets Harley’s Hope Foundation is an organization that ensures low income pet parents and their companion or service animals remain together when issues arise. Many breed rescues and groups have specials funds available for owners who need financial assistance, such as the Special Needs Dobermans, Labrador Lifeline, and Pitbull Rescue Central. Banfield Pet Hospital has its own programs for owners that can’t afford their pet’s care. Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance (FVEAP) works with seniors, people with disabilities, people who have lost their job, good Samaritans who rescue a cat or kitten who may need financial assistance to save a beloved companion. The Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance Program is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that provides financial assistance to cat and kitten guardians who are unable to afford veterinary services to save their companions when life-threatening illness or injury strikes. God's Creatures Ministry helps pay for veterinarian bills for those who need help. IMOM is dedicated to insure that no companion animal has to be euthanized simply because their caretaker is financially challenged. The Onyx & Breezy Foundation has many programs including helping people with medical bills. They are a good resource for information. Brown Dog Foundation provides funding to families with a sick pet that would likely respond to treatment, but due to circumstances, there is not enough money immediately available to pay. Poor kitty! Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do for him at home except keep him calm, warm, and quiet. Do not give him any human medications, as many are toxic to cats and can be fatal if given. He needs veterinary attention immediately, and there is usually a vet on call after hours for emergencies. The information to reach a vet on call is usually found on the clinic's answering machine or website. If transportation is an issue, I would call a friend to drive you or a cab to take you. Boo Boo does have to see a vet. Limping means he is in pain, and there are no human pain medications you can give him. Many are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given.
