Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | 9 months and 2 days old | 7 lbs

My kitten was spayed and would not wear the cone. She gets her stitches out on Tuesday, 11 /5 and I have been monitoring her stitches I see tHere puss in the middle of the incision. I am boiling water and letting it cool. Then I am going to hold a warm compress on it. My question is should I put anything else on it afterwards?

Ideally the wound should be covered by using a plaster (primapore), a pet shirt or a net bandage. Please post a picture of it on the forum so we will be able to give you a more specific answer and advices on how likely an infection is. Antibiotics might be needed.
