Why is my 10-year-old cat vomiting and meowing in pain?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 lbs

My cat vomited what she ate in the morning. After that she started meowing continuously. She stopped only after i picked her up and put her on my lap. even the she was clenching her paws for some time. she's asleep now but i'm worried something is wrong with her. She is a 10 year old cat. Please advise

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Amy. She should see her veterinarian if possible. The are many causes of vomiting in cats, but what worries me is that she seems painful based on your description. In the meantime, offer her small amounts of water so that she does not become dehydrated. Rest her stomach for several hours and then offer her a few bites of food to see if she will keep it down.
