Is it safe to use a tick repellent with Advantix on my dog?

I recommend a product that kills both fleas and ticks instead of using two products. There are a number of products that can't be used together safely, which is why it's best to use just one. I recommend giving Addie either Frontline Plus or Nexgard. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Not 100% sure what you mean by an Advantix flea bath. Advantix is a topical flea treatment applied on the skin of dogs. Yes you can use Nexgard along with Advantix. Great multimodal flea/tick strategy. After you have used both oral and topical treatments together for 3 months or so, any environmental problem inside the home should be addressed. That gives enough time for most if not all of the immature stages to mature and be killed by the products. After that time period, you may be able to drop back down to one product each month. Depends on your geographical location and your particular flea problem. Good luck

My dog is now on advantage multi prevention but I need to add ticks prevention. Bayer who manufactures advantage multi said it is okay to use 2 topical meds ( advantage multi plus frontline plus) but my vet said it is not recommended. Now I need A 3r
Most of veterinarians will avoid using two topical medications, in the hopes of avoiding interactions or side effects. Each product has different chemicals and if you use two topical products, you want to be sure they are safe together. Have you thought about using something like a Preventic collar? This collar works very well for ticks. You put it on Benji when you are going to areas that have ticks. When you are no longer worried about ticks, you store the collar in a baggie in a cool, dark place. It will remain effective for 6-8 months. You could also switch your product to Simparica and Interceptor.bthen you get full coverage with compatible products. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Is it safe for me to use simparica oral flea medication and k9 advantix I topical flea medication together?
Generally, we at Pet Coach recommend using one flea and tick medication. I would recommend only using the K9 advantix on Pistol. It kills fleas, repels fleas, kills flea egg and larvae, kills ticks, repels ticks, and kills and/or repels mosquitoes. Simparica only kills fleas and ticks. You will get everything you need for Pistol's protection with the K9 advantix. I hope this helps!

What is the difference between advantix and frontline plus? I've ordered frontline plus but am worried by some reviews that it doesn't work well. Should I use advantix instead? Right now, I'm using frontline spray.
The difference is that Advantix kills and repels fleas, ticks and mosquitoes, kills lice and also repels biting flies. In comparison, Frontline kills but does not repel fleas, ticks or lice and has no effect on mosquitoes or biting flies. Now, that being said, I've also had many cases where Advantix treated dogs still came in with ticks on them and dogs with Frontline had less occurrence of this happening. The spray is for spot treating and is different than using the monthly preventive. Either preventive is fine to use. If you notice ticks still or fleas, then switch to a different product would be my recommendation. I hope this helps!

I applied Bravecto on my lab mix on August 14 and it is supposed to last for 12 weeks. We moved and are finding that mosquitoes are terrible where we now live. On Oct 14, I would like to apply K9 Advantix II because it helps to repel mosquitoes too.
Bravecto and Advantix contain different drugs that work in different ways - it is safe to give the two together. You should also be sure that Zeke is on a heartworm preventative - this is the main disease in dogs that is spread through mosquitoes.

I give my dog Revolution and K9 Advantix II. Does she need both for flea and tick protection? Thank you.
Revolution isn't licensed for all ticks so if ticks are a problem then I do recommend using both. You could also consider an oral flea and tick product like Naxguard or Brevecto as well if Lucy's skin becomes irritated using both topical products at the same time.

Yes, it's safe to use the Advantix flea collar, or other flea collars with the spot-on treatment. Keep in mind that controlling fleas on the dog is just half the battle. You will also need to try and kill the fleas in the environment to help keep them from getting reinfested. Can we use revolution and k9 advantix together? My dog gets sick from any heart worm treatment by mouth but I don't think she is getting good flea control with revolution. I would rather not use a collar.
Hi yes you can use both treatments on Daphne but i suggest separating the application by two weeks. You can also consider using a product like Proheart6 - an injectable heartworm prevention given at the vet hospital that lasts for 6mths. I find that revolution works well for fleas, but doesn't cover all types of ticks. Hope this helps!

Yes, both products are safe to use together. In addition to the pesticide that was sprayed, the yard also needs to be treated. You should also vacuum daily. The vibrations attract the fleas. Then discard the vacuum bag each day so the fleas don't crawl back out. You will have to do this for a month or so as every day there will be thousands of fleas that hatch from the eggs. Make sure to also vacuum under couches, beds, etc as the fleas like to take cover when they are breeding and laying eggs.

Can I use Advocate and a Seresto collar at same time on my dog?
I would advise against this. Advocate is fairly complete except tick prevention. If you have concerns about ticks, I recommend to switch to something like Simparica and Intercepor or you can use a collar specifically for ticks called a Preventic collar.
