My dog got stung by a bee. Will both eyes swell? When will it go down?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 7 years old | 56 lbs

Does a bee sting affect both eyes when only one of her eye got stung, also when will the swelling go away?? I gave her two benadrys, she is eating good and seems playful. Just very sleepy now due to the benadryl I'm guessing.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Yes, bee stings can make the entire head / face swell regardless of where the sting took place. If the swelling does not resolve with the Benadryl, I would recommend having Pepper examined by a veterinarian for further treatment. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
