My sick kitten has eye discharge and orange poop. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 22 days old

She has a cold and couldn't breathe during feedings so she wouldn't eat. The mom abandoned her so I took over. She'll only take a few drops of formula at a time but is showing weight gain. She still has the cold and her eyes have a white puss like discharge causing them to stick shut. Besides placing her in the bathroom during showers, what are good ways to get rid of this cold, and help her eyes?... BTW, yes she does urinate and have bm's, but her poo is bright orange and runny.

You need to take Blossom into the vet for treatment. She sounds quite ill, and the puss coming from her eyes indicate an eye infection which can only be treated by medications from the vet. Young kittens can be very fragile and go downhill quickly when sick, so it's best that she sees a vet right away to prevent that from happening. Please take her into a vet now. Best of luck.
