How risky is it to introduce two healthy, vaccinated kittens?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 15 days old | 0.5 lbs

I have a single foster kitten who is lonely and I want her to have a companion and someone to play with. There is a Male kitten her age at the shelter also all alone. They both appear perfectly healthy in every day and have been vaccinated (three way vaccine for panleuk, calici, rhi something). How risky is it to mix them?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding the kittens. I would also check to see that they have been tested for FeLV (feline leukemia) and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). They need a fecal sample tested and to have been dewormed prior to introducing them to each other. If they have had these tests done, then they certainly would likely enjoy some companionship. I hope this information helps!
