Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 24 days old | 43 lbs
I recently started putting about 1/4 cup of a different type of dog food into my dogs regular diet each meal. His stool became very very soft so I stopped feeding him the new food. It’s been two days and he now has diarrhea and today it has some blood and clear pus in it. He also has been coughing to the point that he gags up stuff. His energy level and diet seem unaffected. He also got groomed at a Petco this weekend so I don’t know if he could’ve picked up something there?

Thanks for visiting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This sounds serious enough that he needs to be seen by your veterinarian right away. He could have a number of things causing this including parvovirus (if he isn't fully vaccinated), a foreign body obstruction, or just a severe case of colitis associated with the new food that you introduced. Poor guy. I would recommend taking him in today if possible and getting this treated quickly. Best case scenario is that he has a severe case of colitis and a short course of antibiotics and probiotics, along with a bland diet is enough to get him well again. Best wishes with your pet Winston. I hope he feels better soon. Take care.
