Is it too late to take my 10-month-old cat outside on a leash?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 months and 20 days old

I use to walk my cat when she was just a kitten to get use to the outdoor environment for ESA training. After a couple months I have stopped due to working so much. She’s now 10 months old. Is it still ok to take her around with me (on her service harness ofcourse) in the outdoor environment again? Like the beach, park, shopping...etc. I just don’t want to overwhelm her.

Cute kitty. It is worth a try. Most cats like being outside so it shouldn't stress her too much, unless she has just forgotten how to walk on the leash well. I hope things work out well for your kitty and that she remembers how to walk nicely on her leash. Best wishes and take care!
