Poor Lucy! I'm seeing some discharge from her wound, but I don't think I see any pus. I would gently clean it with warm water and antiseptic soap. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and she will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

What could this possibly be? It was pussing now it's like this
This looks like a local abscess from a bite wound or an insect bite or if there is a mass there it could have been a cyst that got infected. If he is licking it, I recommend to place a cone collar to prevent him from doing that. Also I would clean it with a mild anti-bacterial soap and water. You can try putting some neosporin on it but if it isn't improving, you will likely need to see your vet for an exam and some oral antibiotics to get rid of the infection. I hope this helps.

Hi Thier, My dog recently had surgery on her front right leg, for the removal of a soft tissue sarcoma. It's been healing for just over two weeks now but I'm concerned that the wound may be infected. The area look's red to me and I noticed some leak
The wound looks dry and not swollen. A small amount of discharge (not pus) even clear blood, would be normal. If your dog is otherwise normal, eating and drinking ok and normal activity level and not painful, I would just monitor her at this stage and make sure she does not lick the wound and rest her as much as possible. A buster collar would be helpful in case of any licking.

Ouch, poor Omi! Gently wash the wound warm water and antiseptic soap. To keep her from licking at it, you can put an Ecollar on her. You can get one at a pet store or make one at home. Keep the wound clean and dry, and monitor it for signs of infection. If you see redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, or pus, then it is infected and she will need to see the vet for antibiotics to treat it. I hope this helps!

Panda had surgery 7 days ago his chin wound is red round the edge and has a black scab running the length the stitches are holding OK on his chin the neuter wound is dry and normal pink colour should I take him to vet or just see if redness goes away
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about Panda. I would monitor this closely. Signs of infection include redness, swelling, pain, discharge, and loss of function so if you notice this getting worse or other signs develop, take him back to have him re-evaluated. You can use some topical Neosporin or similar antibiotic ointment on the incision. Just make sure if doesn't contain hydrocortisone or a steroid. Good luck

Hi. I do think that Bella's wound looks infected. It is important to clean the area thoroughly. This would require all if the hair being shaved away leaving just bare skin and the wound. You will then be better able to clean the area well. If you cannot see a vet until tomorrow, use a mild antibacterial dish soap and warm water to clean away all of the sticky build up. You can then apply a topical antibiotic ointment. Make sure the collar stays on so she cannot lick the ointment off. Have your vet look at her again as I think she should be on a prescription antibiotic. The vet can also thoroughly shave and clean the area if you were not able to.

What treatment is advised?
Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. It looks like Lucy may have a wound or a cut on her foot that is bleeding, which should be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as you can get her there. A veterinarian can shave the fur from the area and examine the wound, and determine if it needs to be sutured or if it is something that will heal on its own. The vet can also prescribe antibiotics to help reduce the risk of infection, and pain medications to help Lucy feel better and in less pain. Please do not give any pain medications that are intended for humans to Lucy, as these can be fatally toxic to dogs. In the meantime, you can try gently wiping the area with a damp paper towel if Lucy will allow it to try to remove any debris. I hope this is helpful!

She had a small bump removed on wednesday & now it looks like this. She did start licking it a bit but now it stays covered with a slight bandage to where she cant get to it. Why does it look like this now? Is it bad? Should I do anything about it? I
It appears that the area where the mass was removed is now infected. I can see a pustule in the third picture. I would recommend taking Precious back to the veterinarian to have the vet start her on an antibiotic and an antibiotic ointment. I hope this helps! My dog has a wound with puss on back. Please help
Try cleaning the wound with an antiseptic solution or with clean water, just to see how bad it is, then you can put some antiseptic/antibiotic cream over it 2-3 times a day. If the wounds looks very infected, large or severe, take Ninja to the vet as he will need it to be cleaned and he will be prescribed a course of antibiotics.
