My dog has soft tissue sarcoma. How fast do these dog tumors grow?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 years and 9 months old | 65 lbs

My dog was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma in Jan. 2018 after getting a developing tumor on her rear checked out. How fast do these kinds of cancer grow?

I'm sorry Daisy May has a soft tissue sarcoma! The answer to your question depends on the grade of the tumor. Ones that are a low to intermediate grade that are removed completely with surgery have an excellent long term prognosis. Even ones that aren't completely excised but are followed up with radiation therapy also have a very good prognosis. High grade tumors, however, the long term prognosis is more guarded. Median survival time is around one year. I would speak with her vet to get the grade of her tumor, which will give you a better indication of her prognosis. Best of luck, I hope this helps.
