My dog is in pain, struggling to walk, and tail is tucked. What can I do?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 88 lbs

My pet is having a hard time walking and hurts to lie down. He struggled going to the bathroom like he normally does. & his tail is between his legs. Is there anything i can give him to releive pain?

Unfortunately no, there are no OTC pain medications you can give Kane. Many human ones are toxic to dogs, and can be fatal if given. From your description, it does sound like he may be in a lot pain, and I'd recommend an immediate vet visit for him. Best of luck.

What can I do for pain? Not able to move at all?
Unfortunately, there are no safe OTC pain relievers for dogs. Many are toxic to dogs, and can be fatal if given. If Troy can't move at all because he's in so much pain, he needs to see a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet now.

No, unfortunately not, there are no OTC pain medications for dogs. Many human ones are toxic to dogs, and can be fatal if given. She sounds in a lot of pain if she can't hardly get up. She has to see a vet now. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Poor Rufus! Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I'd take him into a vet as soon as possible to be checked out and get pain medication. If he's extremely painful, I'd rush him into an ER vet. Until he sees the vet, rest him as much as possible. Take him out to potty on a leash, and bring him right back in when he's done. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Oh no, poor Tank! Unfortunately, there are not OTC pain medications you can give. Many human ones are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I would rest him tonight. Take him out to toilet on a lead only and bring him right back in when he's done. You can try icing his hips with bag of frozen veggies or an ice pack (be sure to wrap the package in a towel to protect his skin) to see if that helps him more comfortable. You can leave this ice pack on for 5-10 minutes at a time. Keep him as quiet as possible, and try to keep Tank from moving around. Take him into the vet first thing in the morning. My dog got her leg stuck in the door, and now it's tender. It's not broken but seems sore. Is there an over the counter pain relief I can give her?
Unfortunately no. Many human pain medications are toxic to dogs, and can be fatal if given. I recommend resting her for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take her out to toilet on a leash, and bring her right back in when she's done. If she still appears painful after this time, then I would take her into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. She may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe.

Hi there! I'm afraid there are no human over-the-counter pain medications that are safe for use in dogs - so if you think he's in pain, I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam. Your veterinarian can prescribe a safe and effective pain medication for him if needed. In the meantime, the best thing to do at home is keep him calm and quiet so that he doesn't injure the leg further. Make sure that he has a soft padded bed to lay on, and don't allow any running or jumping. You can try holding a warm compress on the affected area if you can tell what part of the leg is hurting him, as this can sometimes help with muscle pain and soreness.
