Can I take my puppy outside after his first DHPPL vaccine shot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 13 days old | 9 lbs

My pup just got his first shot of DHPPL, I was told by the breeder to not take him out until then, infact he told me not to take him out until all his vaccines were done, but I wanted to get an second opinion. Can I take him out for short walks?

You can take your pup out for play and walks in your own back yard. Do not take him to areas where other dogs romp or walk as he is not at all protected against any of the viruses we vaccinate against. He will need two more courses of vaccines before you can take him outside your house and yard.
