My dog ate a Kinder chocolate bar. Should I take my poodle to the vet?

my 4.2kg toy size poodle just ate half Kinder chocolate bar(milky filling-coated in milk chocolate), total around 7.5g, should I take her to the vet???

That wasn't good that MayMay ate the Kinder chocolate bar, but this amount of chocolate will at most cause a minimal reaction. There is a potential for an upset stomach, but she should be fine. No need to take her to the vet!

From what I can find it looks like each bar is 31 grams, so if we assume that the bar is 100% chocolate (which is likely an overestimate) and that Fifi ate half a bar this would not be a toxic dose of chocolate. If it seems like a bar is more than 31 grams or if there’s any chance she may have eaten more than half I’d recommend contacting an emergency vet or the Pet Poison Helpline: www.petpoisonhelpline.com

I have a small puppy and he just ate 2 kiss chocolates, should I take him to the vet? He weighs about 12 lb.
Fortunately that is not enough chocolate to be of a toxic dose in Goofy. It may upset his stomach though and cause vomiting or diarrhea over the next 24 hours though. You can monitor for any changes or symptoms then seek a vet if needed.

My dog is 23 pounds and ate half a king sized kit kat, should I take him to the vet?
Fortunately, there is very little actual chocolate in a Kit Kat bar - not nearly enough to cause any toxicity issues, even in a fairly small dog like Kimbo. He may have some mild stomach upset if he isn't used to eating "human food" like this, but otherwise should be just fine :)

My 5 pound yorkie ate about half a hersheys cookies and creme chocolate bar should i take her to the vet?
The amount of actual cocoa in this type of candy is very small, and won't cause a problem. It is possible (though not likely) that she may develop gastroenteritis, or even possibly pancreatitis, just due to the amount of sugar and fat; but NOT from the chocolate. If she starts vomiting or develops watery, volumous diarrhea or becomes lethargic, take her to the vet. If she has some mild diarrhea, feed her a bland diet of chicken and rice and give her 24-48 hours to improve. thanks for asking Boop by Petco!

Oh no, that was naughty of Elmo to eat that chocolate! The good news is that with his weight and the amount of chocolate he ate, you would see minimal to no reaction. There is a potential for an upset stomach and diarrhea, and if you do see that, you can withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. Otherwise, he should be fine and there is no need to call the vet as an emergency. Good luck, I hope this helps and thanks for contacting Pet Coach!

There's no need to panic! One milk chocolate Hershey's kiss does not contain nearly enough caffeine and theobromine to cause any significant problems for Maze. At the worst, she may experience a little bit of stomach upset with vomiting and diarrhea in a day or two. Had she eaten baker's chocolate, cocoa powder, or very dark chocolate, I'd be very concerned, as the caffeine and theobromine in these types of chocolate can cause cardiac and neurologic issues. After this tiny amount of milk chocolate, there's nothing you need to do!

My dog ate A half or possibly one and a half Hershey bars. She is a wheaten terrior and is about 45 pounds. Will she be ok? What should I do?
A Hershey bar weighs 1.55 ounces, so let's say all of the is chocolate (I'm assuming you're talking about a milk chocolate Hershey bar). If she ate one and a half of them, that would be between 2 and 3 ounces of chocolate. According to my chocolate toxicity calculator, she should be OK with this dose. You might see some mild GI upset, such as vomiting and diarrhea. I would withhold food for several hours to see how she does, and take her to the vet if you see any stomach upset. I have seen one or two dogs who were exceptionally sensitive to even small amounts of chocolate, although this is rare. If you want to be completely safe you are within a good window of time to take her to your vet's and have vomiting induced.

While we were away 10:30am-2:00 pm today, Golden Retriever at home apparently ate 2-3 oz of milk chocolate with crispy rice. Dog weighs 95 lb, shows no symptoms of distress. What action should I take?
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Luna. While it's not good that she ate this chocolate, you don't need to do anything. The amount she ate will cause minimal to no reaction. At most you may see some GI upset, but other than that, she should be ok. I hope this helps!

There is very little cocoa in these eggs, so a dog Coco's size will most likely be fine. You can watch for any signs of GI upset (vomiting, diarrhea) that can come anytime a dog gets into something they're not used to eating. If you're concerned, you can reach out to your vet and they can help give Coco a medication to make her vomit and get the chocolate out of her stomach, to minimize the risk of later developing GI symptoms.

Hello. Bella should be fine, but if in the next 4-6 hours she develops any vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, excessive panting, then have her seen as soon as possible. There really is not enough actual chocolate in the Kit Kats or the peanut butter eggs to make a dog this size very sick, but just keep an eye on her. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
