My cat was in a fight and is in pain. Should I take him to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 3 months old | 14 lbs

My 4 year old cat was in some type of fight the night before last. He’s got one bald patch on right shoulder blade(no blood) and a few scrapes on his chin and upper lip. No broken teeth or limp of any kind but is in pain and has just started eating slowly but I see he’s hungry. He’s drinking water. He wasn’t yawning fully but is starting to get mouth wider. Crying differently and is in pain. What to do and should I be worried?

I would be worried because Squeaky is clearly in pain, and he could have internal injuries. Unfortunately you cannot give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. He really should see a vet first thing in the morning. Please take him to one as soon as possible. Best of luck.
