My dog has a small bump on his head I can only feel. Is it serious?

My dog has a very small bump on his head. Its not visible its not red at all you could just feel it on his head. Could it be something serious?

At three years of age, the chance of a bump being something serious like cancer would be rare but there is always a chance. It could also be that Chicharito has a benign tumor. Any suspicious bumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the bump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I'd make an appointment for him to be seen by the vet sometime in the next week. Best of luck, I hope this helps.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. My dog started with a bump on his head at the base of his ear. He scratched it causing it to bleed. The bleeding stopped, however it has turned black in color and its been about 3 weeks now. It has stayed the same size?

Is something wrong here? My dog normally has a wilder bump there but it seems to have gotten bigger.

There's a bump on my dogs head that looks a bit like a pimple. It has been there for over a month. We assumed it was a pimple or something of that sort, but it seemed to be getting larger and redder. Could it be a tumour?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Pumpkin. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian if the bump is growing. A procedure known as a fine needle aspirate may be performed. The veterinarian will use a small needle to collect a sample of cells to evaluate under the microscope. This will tell if there is an infection under the skin such as an abscess, a benign growth, a build up for fluid or even skin cancer. Based on these results, treatment recommendations can be made. My dog has got a little bump on his side, I have no idea from what. I just want to know if I should take him to the vet, or will it just heal on it’s own

Why is there a small red bump on my dog's head?
It’s hard to say without a photo what the bump is and whether or not you need to be concerned about it. It could be a tumor/mass, a spot of infection, or a skin tag. If it is changing/growing it would be a good idea to have it checked by your veterinarian.
