Are male horses truly more dangerous or aggressive than female horses?

Are Male horses more dangerous than female horses? I’ve always had a phobia of Male horses ever since I was thrown by one when I was a kid we have Male horses here but I don’t go into the same paddock as them my dad looks after them they generally scare me but I’m not scared of female horses i always thought Male horses are more likely to attack you just want a vets opinion

Hi there. Stallions (male horses that have not been castrated) are generally considered to be more aggressive and dangerous to work with than either mares (females) or geldings (castrated males). But it really depends on the individual horse - I have met some very gentle, easy-to-handle stallions as well.
