My dog eats everything! How do I stop him from chewing on things?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 25 lbs

My dog eats every and anything and when i say anything i mean anything. I just want to know how to prevent him because no matter where i put him he eats what is there.

It is safest to keep in confined to a kennel with a treat to help him stay safe and entertained. You can get the thick water buffalo horns or elk antlers that are stronger and last longer than typical rawhides. If you are home with him, let him out and correct him when he chews the wrong things. Tell him no and give him something he is allowed to chew on to help

    unfortunately this is a bad habit of young dogs. The best thing to do is keep in him in a kennel if you are not home. If you are home, make sure everything is picked up. Give him 2-3 toys at a time and put the rest up. Make sure one toy is a kong or other treat hiding toy to help keep him occupied and work for food. You can also get nylabones or antler chews to help. Rotate his toys with a new set every few days so he does not get bored. Each time is chews something he is not supposed to, tell him no, and give him something appropriate to chew on instead.

My 1 year old dog destroys/chews on everything she shouldn't. Is she lacking something in her system?
Chewing on lots of things is very normal behavior for young dogs - it normally diminishes on its own with age, but in the meantime you can do some things to help. First and foremost, make sure that she has plenty of chew items and long-lasting treats available to provide an appropriate outlet for this behavior - things like bully sticks, cow or pig ears, large rawhide chews, and puzzle toys such as a Kong stuffed with peanut butter are all good options. Keep clothing, shoes, and other objects put away out of her reach, just as you would for a toddler or small child. I would also recommend supervising her closely so that you can redirect her to one of her chews if she starts to chew on something she shouldn't. Finally, Bitter Apple spray can be used on furniture, baseboards, or other areas to help discourage chewing. If the destructive behavior is only happening when you're not home, I would be concerned that she may have separation anxiety - you can video tape her one day while yo

What do I do if my dog eats literally everything and anything she can get her paws on?
Strict supervision and plenty of toys that she can get treats/food out of to try to entertain her. She should only be outside on a leash if she is ingesting dangerous objects, and when you are not home she should be crated. She should only be loose in the house in "safe" areas where you are sure there is nothing on the floor for her to eat. Encourage her to play with "safe" things like kongs filled with frozen dog food or puzzle feeders that drop treats when she plays with them, so she can be rewarded for interacting with ok objects. You can also teach her the "leave it" command so that if you encounter something on a walk/etc. she won't automatically ingest it! My pitbull keeps eating everything possible, nothing can ever be left in reach, nor in the trash. He is in a Shop all day and will eat pieces on the ground.What can we do to get him to stop?
The safest option is to keep him kenneled if you are not there to watch him. this prevents him from tearing up your things and protects him from eating something that can harm him. If this does not help, you can look into day care for him to burn off some energy and not be bored. You can look at getting stronger toys such as Kongs that allow you to place treats inside to keep them occupied and interested in the toys or water buffalo horns and elk antlers that are sold at pet stores. these are more durable than most bones and are enjoyable for dogs. If all of these fail, you can talk to your vet about medicine to help with anxiety to keep him calmer and more relaxed when alone

How do I stop my dog from eating and chewing on everything especially his toys
Young dogs are very oral and this is a normal behavior for them. Try to purchase toys that are meant for chewing such as rawhide, Kong toys etc. lots and lots of exercise for mental and physical stimulation, and taking away or preventing access to the things you don’t want him chewing on. A stern "No" should distract her then offer an appropriate item to chew. When she complies, praise and reward her. Be firm and be consistent. A bitter agent, such as Bitter Apple or Fooey, may also deter inappropriate chewing. Be sure to spot test it on fabrics first.

What can I give my dog to deter her chewing habit?
I see that Bella is still a puppy. Puppies can be very distructive as they finish teething and get their extra energy out. I would consider some of the tougher chews like Bully Sticks which should keep her busy for a longer period of time. My dogs also enjoy Kong toys. You can also consider other types of mental stimulation like Buster cubes for feeding. Be sure to keep her tired with regular training, walks and play. Finally, if Bella is chewing on things that may cause her harm, be sure to keep her in a kennel when she is not supervised to make sure she doesn't get into anything dangerous. I hope that helps. Pocholo is back in the stage of destroying things and other stuffs when we are asleep or away to work. I already give him many toys. Is there any possible underlying problem and what else will I give him to calm him down in destroying things.
Kennel him if you are not able to watch him. This will protect your things and him from eating something that may cause an obstruction. Too many toys can lead to boredom. Give him 1-3 at a time and hide the rest. You can rotate these every day so he thinks he is getting something new. If this continues you can talk to your vet about medication.

Hi, I have a St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix that is about 11 months old. He started chewing up the bathroom wall and cabinets as well as other household things when we're gone. He has toys and has our other dog to play with as well, but still chews.
Oh no! If he will tolerate a crate, I would strongly consider this to help prevent him from swallowing something he shouldn’t and to prevent more damage to your house. I would also consider some calming chews like vetriscience composure and a calming collar like adaptil. If this doesn’t help, I would talk to your vet about starting him on an anti-anxiety Medicine. Why don't you crate Chico while you are gone? The crate will provide him a small space where he can feel safe in it when you are gone, and it will keep him from chewing on things. You will have to slowly train him to get used to a crate. Start putting him in it when you are home and sitting nearby so he doesn't think you are abandoning him, and slowly increase the time he is in it. He can have toys in the crate, and puzzle toys with treats in it that he has to figure out how to get the treats out. You can put a tablespoon of peanut butter in a Kong toy and freeze it in the freezer overnight, then give it to him in the crate. That will keep him occupied for a while. I hope this helps!
