What people consider "good training" will vary a lot depending on what you want your dog to do, so there isn't really a universal answer to this. If you want an example of what I consider important basic skills for most pet dogs, I would say the following: - attention on cue (meaning that your dog will reliably look at you when you call their name) - basic obedience skills - sit, down, stay, and come - polite leash walking - comfortable with basic handling and grooming such as brushing, nail trimming, etc. - comfortable working around other dogs and people without being anxious or aggressive - comfortable riding in the car Beyond that, it really depends on what you're planning to do with your dog. I hope that helps! :)
