My cat is vomiting whole food and chewing cardboard. What's wrong?

Hello, I have a kitty about a year old that has started vomiting the past cpl days. It's orangish and usually has whole pieces of food in it. She's normal otherwise and is actually on the chunkier side. Although she's been chewing on anything she can that's cardboard. Also, I found a furrball that I believe might have been her too. We have 5 so it's sometimes hard to find the culprit. Also, usually she is sick in the morning after breakfast. They have same food since they were babies. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 11 days old | 10 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Harley! Possible causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion (ate something gross), are something that is causing a blockage, pancreatitis, toxin ingestion, hair balls, food allergy/intolerance. Cats with nausea or underlying intestinal disease like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) like to lick cardboard, eat paper products, etc. Since she is under 1 year of age and she is known to lick (at least) foreign objects, a blockage is high on the list. If she continues to vomit I would have her seen today before the weekend for an exam and belly X-rays. If everything looks good the Vet can provide a GI diet, anti-nausea and maybe a hair ball remedy. I wish Harley the best!
