My 7-month pug has one testicle. Can injections help it drop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 27 days old | 8.6 lbs

Is it worth trying testosterone injections to help the other testicle come down in a 7 month old pug?

Testosterone injections will not make the retained testicle descend. Any other hormone treatment likely will also not work. This is a hereditary problem. Your pug should be neutered and the retained testicle can then be removed also. It is better to remove it as retained testicle often turn cancerous.
