Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | spayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 94 lbs

a dog got mouthy with mine and bit her on her neck now she's getting bumps on her neck. I took her to my vet today he gave a shot of penicillin in but and said to give her 3 amoxicillin's in morning and evening 500 mg each does that seem like a lot?

Your dog is a big dog. Medications are dosed by weight and therefore the dosage for your dog is correct. She apparently is developing some abscesses and the Penicillin and Amoxicillin are hopefully clearing up the abscesses. Please finish the course of antibiotics as prescribed by your veterinarian.
