My cat was recently attacked by a coyote and has this hole under his tail, would you say that this would require stitches?

Poor Jasper! I would say that this wound definitely needs veterinary care. Whether it can be stitched or not will depend on how long ago it happened and how contaminated the wound is - but regardless, he will definitely need prescription antibiotics and pain medication. I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam today. He/she can decide whether to try and suture the wound based on how it looks on exam, and will get him started on appropriate medication to keep it from getting infected and help it heal.
