Is Hill's puppy food enough? How to stop my puppy eating poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | West Highland White Terrier | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 26 days old | 10 lbs

My 5 months old Westie puppy eats only the food Hills for puppies. Is it enough, nutrition-wise? Or I need to give vegetables and meat to complete her nutrition? She always eats some poop.

Hill's puppy food is a complete puppy food and you do not need to supplement it. You should feed the puppy food for the correct size (as an adult) of your puppy. Do not let her eat her poop. It is a bad habit, likely because it smells a bit like her food. Pick up the poop immediately after she eliminated it.
