Why is my dog's stomach bloated but he's acting normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 22 days old

My dog stomach started to look bloated two days ago. He's still eating but not quite as much as he did and he's still playing normally and drinking water. He poops still. He doesn't act like he's in any pain either

Hello, sorry to hear about Draco. It sounds like he may be having mild sings of an upset stomach. You can continue to monitor him for any vomiting, diarrhea, inappetence, or lethargy. If you note any of these, then he should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Otherwise, you can feed him a bland diet of plain white rice, skinless, and boneless boiled chicken, and low fat cottage cheese. If he has any other signs including panting, persistent vomiting, or retching and if his stomach becomes severely distended very fast, then he should be seen on emergency basis by a veterinarian. Hope this helps and best of luck.
