Hello, sorry to hear about Leo. It appears like a wound that may not be fully healed. The picture is a little bit blurry but it appears that the pink tissue may be granulation tissue which likely indicates that the wound is not recent. The area likely needs to be clipped and cleaned then it may need surgery to close it. Leo would benefit from antibiotics in the mean time and have him tested for any viral diseases such as FIV and FeLV. Leo should be seen by a veterinarian to have the area further assessed.
