My bird's wing droops, and he struggles to fly. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | 3 years and 4 months old

He has problems flying and his wing is extendened when in a relaxed pose, should I be concerned and should I watch out for other signs of a more serious condition or just a sprained wing? Thank you.

This is usually a sign of a wing injury, if he can still fly then the wing is not broken. if the problem does not resolve within a week i would recommend taking him to an avian vet specialist in order to get it checked and treated.

Monitor him for repeated regurgitation, lethargy, decreased appetite or injury to the wing. If the regurgitation doesn't stop or it Jub Jub develops other symptoms, have him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating birds.
