My kitten's eyes are always goopy. What can I do at home to help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Birman | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 15 days old | 2 lbs

I have a kitten and her eyes keep getting goopy. I wipe them and then by the next morning they're goopy again. Is there anything at home I could do to help get rid of this or will I have to take her to the vet. I really don't have a lot of money.

Hi there and thank you for using PetCoach to address your concern. Judging from the photo, it appears that this is just tear staining. It does not appear to be infectious to me. I would consider the following product and see if this helps ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/angels-eyes-natural-tear-stain-remover-for-cats ). I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
