My dog's tummy is dry and irritated after surgery. What can I apply?

Jack’s tummy looks dry and irritated after surgery two weeks ago (neuter plus an umbilical hernia repair). The last of his stitches (and a couple of staples) came out today. Anything I can rub on his tummy to help soothe irritation? Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Poodle | Male | neutered | 4 months and 29 days old | 15 lbs

You can try A and D ointment, vitamin E, or even a little olive oil. I don’t recommend most lotions because they may contain chemicals that could be harmful if ingested. Hope this helps and best of luck to you and Jack!
