Hi Nida! How lovely of you to look after Joey. She needs to see a vet for this problem, as without seeing her in person, there is no way I can diagnose what is causing the swollen paw or how to treat it. It could be she injured it or she could have an infection. The vet needs to diagnose that cause of the swelling so the correct medications can be prescribed, and it's very important that you don't give her any human medications, especially not pain medications. Many human pain medications are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given. If you don't want to assume financial responsibility for her, I'd bring her into your local RSPCA or cat rescue. Best of luck.

Poor Whisk! Her paw could be swollen because she injured it outside, she has an infection in the paw, or a foreign body. You can try soaking the paw in the Epsom salt bath to see if that helps the swelling, but if it doesn't, she does need to see a vet. Tell your mom you received free advice from a vet who says that it would be best for Whisk to see a vet for this problem. Keep her indoors until she sees the vet so she doesn't hurt the paw further. I hope this helps!
