How to stop my puppy from play biting and mouthing too much?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 8 months and 13 days old | 50 lbs

How to correct biting? She mouths still and sometimes play bites too much. Or mouths if a stranger kid tries to take food (not aggressive almost playful she makes a high pitched noise like she does when playing keepers with another dog) I know your supposed to teach them no biting ever how? I have gotten her to the point she knows how hard her mouth is

A stern "No!" should distract Siena from biting. Once she stops, offer an appropriate item for her to chew. When she complies, praise and reward her. If she doesn't, cease all play and attention until she settles down. If she persists, gate her off in another room until she settles down. Be patient, firm and consistent.
