It looks like she has a skin infection. You could clean it with a wound wash and see if that helps. Otherwise, have your vet examine her to determine the cause and treat. She might need an antibiotic and corticosteroid to help treat.

    She could have a bacterial skin infection. You could bathe her with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. If not, she should be examined by a veterinarian for treatment. She may need an anti-histamine, corticosteroid, and/or an antibiotic to help treat the problem.

    Hi. This appears to be a skin infection. These can be bacterial or fungal. Ringworm is one possibility as well. I would give Kiara manhood oatmeal pet shampoo bath and call your veterinarian in the morning for an appointment. They can get her on the right medication and get some skin testing done.

These could be from a wound or from a skin infection. I would watch them closely. You can put a little neosporin on them as long as they aren't close to the eyes. If they are getting worse or not improving I would have your vet look st them. She may need some antibiotics or other meds to help clear them up.

My dog has a bump scab on top of her head what is it and what should I do?
If this just appears to be a crusted area and is not raised, it is possible this was an insect bite that got irritated or a small scratch/wound. If the lesion is raised (I can't really tell from the appearance) then we sometimes get warty skin growths that can get traumatized and bleed/crust over. I would wash the area with a mild soap or Hibiclens (available at most drug stores) and apply a topical antibiotic like Polysporin or Neosporin a few times day. If she is scratching/rubbing at the area she may need an e-collar for a few days to stop self-trauma. If the lesions isn't improving after several days of this or it starts to get larger/other spots appear then these would be reasons to seek veterinary care.

Can you tell me what this scab is on my dog
This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching. My Shih Tzu Romeo had been itching and scratching. I noticed a hard or crusty scab on his head not far from his ears. Does he need see vet or can this be monitored? He doesn’t seem to be bothered by it
If he doesn't seem to be bothered by it, you could try to clean the area with an wound wash and see if that loosens up the scab. Shaving the hair with a pair of clippers may also help. If the scab persists and/or he has other lesions, then he should be examined and treated by a vet. He may need an antibiotic and allergy medications to help treat.

Hello I'm looking for advice on what my dog may have, around her neck she gets scabs that puss if squeezed they aren't that big and there's not many scabs (3-4) but they don't seem to bother her to much
It sounds like she has a bacterial skin infection around her neck. You could bathe her with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. If not, have her examined by a vet for treatment. She may need an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory to help.

My dog has a big spot on her cheek by her eye below her ear. It was recently a wide open bloody wound, now it looks crusty but kind of whiteish in color, is that just a scab or could it be something else
It sounds like it could be a scab from the wound. She should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat the problem. She could also have an ear infection that needs to be treated. Your vet can prescribe an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or a steroid to help.

My puppy has 2 spots on top of his head 1 is white and I is like a scab. What can I use to treat them and what are they?
He could have a bacterial infection, demodex (mite), or possibly ringworm. You could bathe him with a medicated puppy shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. Your vet can do a skin scrape, culture, and cytology, if needed, to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to treat.

there is a scab on my puppies head & his skin is red around it, i’m not sure where it came from and want to know if i need to take him to the vet for medication or examination.
This looks like a superficial skin infection that may have been caused by a small scratch or abrasion on the skin that just worsened. There is a chance this can even be a fungal infection. I would definitely take Chapo in to your vet to get this treated. The vet may have to shave the hair to get the skin to breathe well, cleanse it with an antiseptic, and then prescribe oral medication to help this resolve. I would also get Chapo on a flea preventative, if not done so already, because this is a common cause of skin lesions. Best wishes with your puppy Chapo moving forward. Hi. My dog Marley has had a bump on her head behind her left eye for about a week and the fur has fallen off of it and it’s kinda scabbing. It looks like there may be a second one. I’m just wondering what this could be. Thanks
Poor girl! It looks like a little local infection or a cyst that she has rubbed all the hair off of. Since you feel like there is a second one now developing, I would have your vet take a look at it before more come up. Your vet can aspirate that bump if needed to make sure it isn't cancerous. They will also be able to prescribe some antibiotics if needed. I hope this helps!

What should I do about this? It looked like a scab but someone picked at it thinking it was a tick but now it looks like this
It looks like a small wound. 1. If you are able, clip the hair away from the wound using buzzing-type clippers, not scissors or a razor. This is so you can monitor the wound and keep the hair out of the way to help with healing. 2. Disinfect the wound once with peroxide or a first aid chlorhexidine wound soap. Do not continue to use peroxide, or alcohol, as this will delay healing. 3. Apply an antibacterial ointment, such as Neosporin, twice daily. If needed to clean the wound, use a warm wet wash cloth to gently wipe away any dried fluid. 4. Prevent all licking or scratching of the wound by using an e-collar or dog booties or socks. 5. See a vet if your pet experiences prolonged lethargy, decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, or a rectal temperature over 103, or if there is creamy discharge or discharge with a foul odor, or there is swelling around the wound.
